The Illinois Sub-4 Mile List…Who’s Next?

Track and Field News released an updated version of their sub-4:00 mile list today.  After a big weekend of collegiate track action, which saw four Americans break four minutes for the first time, we went through the list and pulled out everyone we recognized that is from Illinois.

Here’s the list:

    So, who do you think will be the next Illinois runner to break four? Chris Derrick has an excellent shot if he ever has the chance to run the mile in college. U of I and Iowa have a few IL guys that need to drop some time, but have a shot a year or two from now (Thode, Marchese, Engnell, etc.). Who else has a shot?
